justprompts - ten reasons to give up.
Nov. 4th, 2009 03:51 am1. Linda is gone.
2. Cheryl is gone.
3. Scott is gone.
4. My hand is gone.
5. I had to kill a bunch of other innocent people.
6. This evil's going to keep following me everywhere.
7. No one'll believe me when I try explaining anyway.
8. I'll probably get locked up.
9. And experimented on.
10.Maybe even lobotomized. Or something equally as shitty.

1. Linda would've wanted that.
2. Elle does want that.
3. Cheryl would've forced me to anyway.
4. There's someone special waiting for me in 1300.
5. I need a new hand.
6. There's a few possible families I could have in the future.
7. Being just a wage slave is boring.
8. I have to finish school. Eventually.
9. I want to be happy again.
10.Someone's gotta do it.

justprompts - wedding rings.
Nov. 4th, 2009 04:23 amThe car's in the shop again. If he had the time, Ash would be working on fixing it himself. But he just can't balance the lectures and the shifts at his new job.
Scott's nowhere to be found (thanks a lot, buddy) - so instead of bumming a ride to the local S-Mart, Ash is hoofing it, his backpack over one shoulder and name tag already pinned to the polyester shirt under his jacket.
He's going to be late. He just knows it. Not exactly the best impression to give the boss when he's still the new guy.
With a bit more spring to his step, he's hurrying past the storefronts facing the busy street while trying to get his priorities straight for later. He's got this shift - hopefully he'll be out early enough to swing by Linda's... but he's got that exam on Friday morning to worry about, and he knows she'll be bothering him to hit the books... But there's no way he could do that at the dorm - especially with Scotty there.
The familiar train of thought (jumping from topic to topic and attempting to make justifications for his planned courses of action) come to a screeching halt when he's realized his feet have stopped him in front of a jewelry store - one of those really high-end places. A set of wedding bands had unconsciously caught his eye while he was preoccupied. And now he turns and moves in closer to the display window to get a better look at them.
And the price tag.
It makes him wince noticeably.
Some day he'll have enough to get Linda the ring she's always wanted. And then the bands for the wedding she's always wanted. And then - everything else she's ever wanted. Because she deserves nothing less.

Cheryl is - was - the best little sister a guy could ever ask for. Sure, she could be annoying and uptight sometimes. And she could whine a lot to get her way. But whose little sister doesn't do that sort of thing? I loved her anyway.
She had a great future lined up for her. After her break, she was going to go back to college in full force and finish up and score a great career and be successful in her life - probably more successful than me. She was always the one with the extra motivation to get shit done. If she were still here? she'd probably be nagging me to get back to school as soon as possible and start making up work and trying to graduate on time like I'm supposed to.
She was so talented. More artsy and crafty than I ever was. And she could bake and cook better than Mom ever could. She would've made some guy really happy.
I used to be so over-protective of her when we were younger. But I wasn't quick enough this time - I didn't know what to do. I had no idea what hit her out in those woods. And I let them get her - let them destroy what little bit of family I had left.
I threw her in the cellar, hoped there would be a way to fix everything and get my sister back as soon as the night was over.
And then I had to kill her.
